COLAISTE Eoin will contest the Dublin Schools Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship decider for the third consecutive season after they registered a comprehensive win against Lucan CBS at Silver Park on Monday afternoon.

The Gaelscoil had emerged from a four-team group that also included Colaiste Eanna, St Colmcille’s CS and St Benildus College, but in light of their recent 0-23 to 0-20 success overSt Fintan’s, Lucan were hoping to provide stiff opposition to Eoin.

They certainly caused problems for the Booterstown outfit, but with Finn Ó Múrchú and Cian Ó Cathasaigh generally maintaining a tight rein in defence, Eoin kept at arm’s length.

Sean Ó Cuanaigh, who plays for Faughs, and Dárach Mac Giolla Bhride contributed some fine scores over the course of the hour, while Shane Ó hAodha was a key performer once again.

Ó hAodha raised a green flag against the Ballydowd side, and thanks to additional goals from Conal Ó Tuathaill, Pádraig Ó Luinneacháin, Breandan Ó Scanláin and Seán Delap, Colaiste Eoin eventually claimed a 5-20 to 3-11 triumph. Their opponents in the upcoming final will be the winners of the other semi-final between Ardscoil Ris – who narrowly defeated Eoin in last year’s final – and St Aidan’s CBS.

Meanwhile, there was better fortune for Lucan CBS’ U18 side last Thursday as they secured a 5-18 to 2-10 win over Castleknock CC in a Dublin Schools Senior Hurling ‘B’ quarter-final.
