DEFENDING champions Colaiste Eoin booked their place in the semi-final of the Dublin Schools Senior ‘A’ Hurling Championship on Tuesday afternoon, when they defeated Colaiste Eanna in a tricky away assignment.

The Gaelscoil had secured a commanding 2-20 to 0-7 victory against St Benildus College in their opening group game of the competition, but they were facing an Eanna side that also had a win under their belts.

In a high-scoring encounter with Benildus last week, Eanna prevailed with 11 points to spare (6-15 to 5-7). Ciarán Cashman, Daniel O’Riordan and Cian Corcoran all registered two goals apiece, while Enda Cashman also delivered a powerful performance from wing-back. This set things up perfectly for their meeting with Eoin, during which they caused a number of problems for Aodan De Paor’s charges.

However, with Donnacha O Muireadaigh, Seamus O Fiachna and Jack O Tuama all chipping in with vital scores, Colaiste Eoin recorded a hard-earned 2-21 to 3-15 success.
