Airtricity Premier Division: Shelbourne V Bohemians – The Irish Independent – May 22 2012

McEvoy swoops for Bohs derby joy

SHELBOURNE 1

BOHEMIANS 2

A 90TH-MINUTE strike by Ryan McEvoy, and a sensational finish by Peter McMahon enabled Bohemians to take all three points from a Tolka Park thriller.

After a tame opening, the game sparked into the life as a disallowed goal by Shels striker Philly Gorman on 31 minutes was followed by the dismissal of his team-mate John Sullivan two
minutes later for a late tackle on McEvoy.

Shels went ahead just a minute before the break when Glen Cronin dispatched a spot-kick past Craig Sexton following an infringement by Evan McMillan, but Bohs restored parity eight minutes after the restart when McMahon controlled Derek Pender’s pass before sending a superb bicycle-kick past Dean Delany.

Bohs then clinically punished Shels in the final minute of normal time when the impressive McEvoy lashed home from a pull-back on the right to give his side all three points.
