Airtricity Premier Division: Bohemians V Drogheda United – The Irish Independent – May 12 2012

BOHEMIANS 1

DROGHEDA UTD 1

DROGHEDA continued their unlikely good run with a well deserved draw at Dalymount Park.

Bohs enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges. However, after a shaky start, Drogheda settle into the proceeedings and Declan O’Brien twice went close to opening the scoring.

But it was Bohs who broke the deadlock on 38 minutes when Ryan McEvoy drilled a superb right-footed shot past Gabriel Sava after some fine approach work by Keith Buckley.

Drogs were back on level terms just two minutes later when captain McNally smashed the ball past Andy McNulty after Bohs had failed to deal with an inswinging Eric Foley corner.

Bohs were forced into a change between the sticks on 55 minutes when the injured McNulty had to be replaced by Craig Sexton, but in his absence they almost came up with an immediate response, with Luke Byrne’s powerful header being tipped just over the crossbar by Sava following a Keith Ward corner.

As the action moved into the final quarter, Drogs started to press more and more and Bohs captain Evan McMillan got his body in the way of a goal-bound Sean Brennan strike with two minutes remaining.
