Chris Cosgrave amassed a personal haul of 38 points at Donnybrook yesterday, as St Michael’s College advanced to the Leinster Schools Junior Cup semi-final with a huge win over Kilkenny College.
The Ailesbury Road outfit contested last year’s decider and thanks to tries by Tim Gilsenan, Jack Boyle, Cosgrave, Lee Barron, James Power and Eddie Kelly, they opened up an insurmountable 42-0 lead at the break.
A rampant Michael’s enhanced their advantage through Boyle and Gilsenan after the restart, and even though Kilkenny finally opened their account with a seven-point salvo from Charlie Tector, the south Dublin school finished on a high with consecutive tries from Cosgrave in the 46th, 50th and 60th minutes.
