FOLLOWING their 3-11 to 3-3 victory over Hazelwood College, Limerick last Friday, Coláiste Íosagáin will contest the All-Ireland Schools Senior ‘B’ Camogie Championship final.
Rachel Ní Airtnéid contributed a hat-trick of goals for the Gaelscoil, who will now contest the upcoming decider on March 4.
Íosagáin had secured their first Dublin schools senior title against Our Lady’s, Terenure a fortnight earlier, and a brace of Ní Airtnéid goals helped them to open a sizeable gap on UL’s all-weather pitch.
The Booterstown girls were playing with great confidence, and additional points by Meadhbh Ni Ghallachóir and Eleanor Ní Eachtairn ensured they brought a commanding 2-8 to 1-2 lead into the interval. However, their Treaty County opponents fired on all cylinders on the resumption, and their haul of 2-1 without reply threatened to spoil the Íosagáin party.
Yet, Ní Airtnéid’s third goal settled down the southsiders once again, and courtesy of unanswered scores by Ní Eachtairn, Grace Ní Shé and Ni Ghallachóir, they sealed their progression in ruthless style.
