DUBLIN JHC ‘C’ SEMI-FINAL

Chaitriona defeat Maynooth in last-four

SCOIL Chaitriona have advanced to the Dublin Schools’ Junior Hurling ‘C’ decider, following their 1-20 to 3-7 triumph over Maynooth PPS last Friday afternoon.

The Mobhi Road outfit initially progressed from a four-team group that also featured St David’s CBS, St Kevin’s CBS and Chanel College.

This helped Chaitriona to book their place in the quarter-final of the competition, where they overcame Oatlands College in a high-scoring game (4-17 to 4-7) on November 15.

Maynooth had impressed in their comprehensive last-eight win against Pobalscoil Neasain, however, and they posed a number of questions for their north Dublin counterparts. Chaitriona eventually dug deep, though, and they will now face HFCS Rathcoole in the upcoming showpiece, after they narrowly beat St Kevin’s (2-8 to 3-4) in the first semi-final last month.
