Castle Avenue Clontarf 22 (S Cronin, M D’Arcy, T Ryan try each, D Joyce pen, 2 cons) Dolphin 24 (C Rowe, N Scannell try, R Scannell try, pen, 3 cons)

Rory Scannell came to the rescue of Dolphin at Castle Avenue, where his second-half penalty gave Dolphin a 24-22 win over Clontarf to keep the Cork side’s slim hopes of survival alive for another week at least.
The visitors had started brightly against defending champions Clontarf with a converted try from Chris Rowe. ‘Tarf did respond with excellent five-pointers by Sam Cronin and Matt D’Arcy, before a nine-point haul from fly-half Rory Scannell, alongside a well-worked Niall Scannell try, handed Dolphin a 21-15 interval lead.
Clontarf looked set to edge a tightly-contested encounter when Tony Ryan crossed over after the restart, but the reliable Rory Scannell had the final say for the away team.
