First-half goals from Andrew Murphy and James Shiggins proved vital at Alfie Byrne Road yesterday, as Clonkeen College triumphed in a lively decider.
Clonkeen soon got into their groove as Sean Treacy opened their account with a free before his midfield partner Murphy found the roof of the net with a clinical finish past Joe McDonnell on eight minutes.
Corner-forward Shiggins was on hand to register his side’s second major on 18 minutes for a 2-4 to 0-6 mid-way advantage.
The southsiders were full value for their lead after the break, and were always in control as they sealed an impressive victory.
