Jennings is hungry for more success
Rugby: With 196 appearances to his name in two different spells, flanker Shane Jennings is one of the most experienced players in the Leinster squad.
Yet, despite having already won seven major honours with the province (in addition to a 2006/07 Guinness Premiership with Leicester Tigers), Jennings still wants further success in the upcoming campaign, when competition for places in the Blues’ back-row will be fierce.
“From a personal point of view, obviously I want to continue playing well. I think from the start we’ll just hit the ground running and try and get decent form. I’m happy to do whatever they want me to do,” Jennings stated.
Because their opening Pro12 outing of 2014/15 is against Glasgow Warriors, the team they conquered in May’s grand final, Jennings is expecting to face a highly-motivated outfit in Scotstoun on Saturday, but is pleased to be meeting them early in the season.
“We’ve usually gone over there in the depths of winter. A cold winter’s night in Glasgow is never the prettiest place to go. It’s always very tough, but from that point of view [playing Glasgow so soon after the 2014 final] it’s going to be a bit different.
“But it’s a good test for us. It’s a good way to start.
