Not Kelly’s day in sunny Bray

GRAHAM KELLY’S spot of bother ensured a share of the spoils at a sun-soaked Carlisle Grounds yesterday evening.
Derry City remain a point clear of hosts Bray after this scoreless clash, but Alan Mathews’ men had several chances to leapfrog Roddy Collins’ visitors.
The Seagulls went close early on through Kelly, Ismahil Akinade and Dave Webster.
Later in the half, Danny Ventre’s handball presented Kelly with a glorious chance to grab the lead.
But his fierce penalty crashed against the bar and away to safety.
Kelly missed out again midway through the second half as Ger Doherty tipped his long-range shot over. And Derry could have nicked it near the end, only for Bray’s Stephen McGuinness to deny Michael Duffy’s effort.
