Leinster Schools’ Senior Cup Update: The Irish Examiner – February 13 2014

Leinster Cup tie refixed for today

by Daire Walsh

With various forms of adverse weather conditions causing major disruptions across the country, it came as little surprise when another set of postponements were announced in the 2014 Beauchamps Leinster Schools’ Senior Cup.

Having emerged from two titanic encounters with Castleknock College, St Andrew’s were set to face Gonzaga College in a 3pm quarter-final at Donnybrook yesterday, but after the Dublin 4 surface was deemed unplayable, it was re-arranged for the same time this afternoon.

This means that there will now be two Senior Cup fixtures down for decision today, with the concluding last-eight meeting of Newbridge College and St Mary’s College taking place at Ashbourne RFC (3pm kick-off) after the original venue of Tallaght Stadium was also considered unfit for action.
