Goals galore as Bonnar’s men run riot
Waterford IT 5-19 St Pat’s-Mater Dei 1-6
Waterford IT got their campaign back on track with a ruthlessly efficient 25-point victory in Clontarf.
With just seven minutes gone, Colm Bonnar’s side had already scored three goals, courtesy of clinical close-range finishes by Liam McGrath, full-forward Jake Dillon and Gavin O’Brien.
With Pauric Mahoney bagging his side’s fourth goal with a penalty, they brought a 19-point cushion (4-9 to 0-2) into the second half.
Pat’s found some measure of consolation with a firmly-struck Enda Morrissey goal on 42 minutes, but WIT sub Martin Power added a fifth goal nine minutes from time.
