McEneaney Geraldines’ hero
GERALDINES 0-13 NAOMH OLAF 0-9
JIM McENEANEY provided the inspiration as Geraldines got the better of Naomh Olaf in this replay at Parnell Park.
Late points from Dara Hamill, Josh Arrowsmith and McEneaney enabled the Louth men to see off the Dubliners, who lost half-back Bernard Gaughran to a second yellow-card late on.
Geraldine’s had benefited from a wind advantage before the interval. However, Olaf’s managed to make a two-point game heading into the final-quarter (0-10 to 0-8).
Although Brian Begley was denied a goal by last-gasp defending nine minutes from time, an Olaf’s victory still looked like a distinct possibility when Eoin Kinsella split the posts on the 56th minute.
However, it was at this point that Geraldines displayed their true mettle and were able to dig in to see off the challenge of the Sandyford men.
