Lilly blooms to earn Mary’s late triumph

UCD 16 ST MARY’S COLLEGE 18

23 NOVEMBER 2013

Chris Lilly was the hero for St Mary’s College in Belfield last night, as his 75th-minute try gave the visitors a hard-earned victory.

Mary’s trailed by 10-7 at the midway point, but a brace of penalties by Steve Toal-Lennon moved them into the ascendancy just past the hour mark.

Two terrific long-range penalties by Niall Earls restored UCD’s lead, but Lilly’s excellent try five minutes from time decided the contest.
