ELSEWHERE in the British and Irish Cup, Cathal Marsh was the hero for Leinster ‘A’ as his 75th-minute conversion of Darragh Fanning’s try sealed a dramatic 24-22 victory over Moseley at Billesley Common.
Moseley built up an early cushion, but a converted try by No 8 Leo Auva’a reduced Leinster ‘A’s deficit to 12-7 by the half. Ollie Thomas quickly restored the Birmingham men’s advantage with a seven-point salvo after the restart, but Sam Coghlan-Murray’s second try in as many games brought Leinster ‘A’ back into contention.
Marsh kept the visitors’ hopes alive with three-pointer, and when Fanning crossed the whitewash four minutes later, Marsh sealed the points for the reigning champions.
