British & Irish Cup Pool 2 Round 1: Leinster ‘A’ V Ealing Trailfinders – The Sunday Independent – October 13 2013

A STANDOUT performance from Cathal Marsh was one of many highlights at Donnybrook yesterday as Leinster ‘A’ got their defence of the British & Irish Cup off to the perfect start with a comprehensive  49-8 Pool 2 victory over Ealing Trailfinders.

The Blue Army had made a bright start with tries from Tom Farrell and right-wing Sam Coghlan-Murray and captain Conor Gilsenan added a third to make it 21-3 at the half.

After the break, Leo Auva’a crossed as Leinster ‘A’ took control. St Mary’s College out-half Marsh set up Tadhg Beirne to touch down, and added a try of his own inside the final quarter.

Ealing grabbed a deserved consolation try through skipper Thomas Anderson, but Leinster ‘A’ had the final say as John Cooney added a seventh try to conclude a fine day for the reigning champions.
