FINGAL 0-15

LOUTH 1-12

MIDFIELDER Dean Flood rescued Fingal in Lawless Memorial Park with his late point securing a draw against 14-man Louth.

Louth took the early initiative with full-forward Gerard Smyth’s 15th-minute goal inspiring a mini scoring spree that led to a five-point cushion by the 24th minute.

Points from Flood, Brian McCarthy and JM Sheridan gave Fingal some momentum but they still trailed 1-7 to 0-6 at the interval.

Louth soon increased their lead to seven points but Fingal were not so lightly dismissed.

With Sheridan to the fore, they hit seven scores in a row to leave the sides level with just six minutes to go.
